Twenty-five junior high students at the Westampton Middle School in New Jersey were given a harsh lesson on drunk driving as their drunk school bus driver allegedly drove them home with a blood alcohol level five times the legal limit.

Terrified children text messaged their parents that their bus driver was drunk and screamed “I dont want to die today!” as 46-year-old bus driver Carole Crockett drove them home, reports The Associated Press.

Concerned parents called the school which alerted the police, reports the AP. The police found Crockett at another school waiting to pickup another load of kids and arrested the woman. There were no reports of any injuries or accidents prior to the arrest.

At the time of arrest, police say that the bus driver had a blood alcohol level of 0.25. This is five times the legal limit for commercial drivers in New Jersey, reports the AP.

As the crime occurred in New Jersey, Crockett likely faces aggravated DUI charges for having such a blood alcohol level, transporting 25 minors, and being drunk in a school zone.

Still, Crockett should consider herself lucky that the DUI did not occur in Pennsylvania. In PA, the legal limit for bus drivers is 0.02 and she would have been more than twelve times the legal limit at the time of arrest.

Carole Crockett is accused of being the drunk school bus driver who gave 25 kids the fright of their lives. She'll probably never be allowed near a school bus again and could face jail time for her actions.
